MAZDA SALES WERE UP IN MARCHApr 13rd , 2015
Mazda sales last month were fueled by the Mazda 5 and Mazda CX-5 that both saw impressive gains in the number of total units sold.
Indeed, Mazda sold 703 units of the Mazda5, more than doubling its total from 2014 when it sold 349 Mazda5 models. Mazda also registered 2,065 sales of its popular Mazda CX-5 compact sport utility vehicle, which is 23.7 percent more than the 1,669 units of the CX-5 it sold in March 2014. The Mazda3 also did very well and led all Mazda vehicles in terms of sales with 3,700 units registered in March, a 1.0 percent increase over last year during the same period. Mazda sold 266 Mazda6 units and 140 Mazda2 models as well last month, while the sporty MX-5 finished the month with 46 sales.
It was a good month for Mazda SUVs which totaled 2,175 sales, 13.3 percent more than for the same month last year. Overall, 86 percent of sales last month were for vehicles equipped with SKYACTIV technology. This year, Mazda will launch two new models with SKYACTIV as the new CX-3 as well as the new-generation MX-5 will also be equipped with Mazda’s fuel-saving, performance-enhancing technology.
“The CX-5 is proving with regularly increasing sales that consumers are looking for sharply styled crossovers that can fit into any lifestyle, and provide great real-world fuel economy and dynamic handling,” said Clark Colby, Director of Sales, Mazda Canada. “With the new CX-3 coming to showrooms soon, consumers will have another attractive and right-sized choice in a growing segment that’s sure to follow in the footsteps of the successful CX-5.”
There is no question that Mazda’s success is poised to continue. For starters, the Mazda CX-3 will join the lineup very soon and will offer customers a spacious vehicle that will also assuredly be fun to drive and agile around town. The new CX-3 will also offer a rather sporty design that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes. Following the CX-3, Mazda dealerships will get the new Mazda MX-5 which is sure to be a huge hit, as well as the new Mazda2 later on. No question, Mazda is on a roll, and there is no reason that will change soon.
